What we do

Planology specialises in all aspects of town planning law, including:

  • appearing in VCAT on all planning matters, including permit applications, permit amendments, extensions of time, cancelling permits, declarations, costs applications and enforcement orders;
  • appearing before Planning Panels Victoria and before Advisory Committees on all planning matters, including rezonings, built form controls for activity centres, heritage overlays, native vegetation precinct plans, neighbourhood character overlays and disposal of surplus government land;
  • providing strategic advice on highly political and controversial planning scheme amendments and permit applications;
  • advising on the interpretation of the Planning and Environment Act 1987, the Subdivision Act 1988 and related legislation, planning schemes, permits and section 173 agreements;
  • advising on subdivisions and public open space contributions;
  • peer review of proposed planning controls and policies;
  • providing technical and strategic advice on achieving compliance with the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and related legislation, planning schemes, and section 173 agreements; and
  • preparing and reviewing section 173 agreements.
